Now that you have created a team, it's time for you to launch some organized projects to raise awareness about family violence in your family, friends and community. We have already created various campaign tools for you that you can use. We are continuously updating this list. Please visit this page often.
1. Organize a Family Violence Awareness Day: This will be like a family reunion on Thanks Giving Day, but the purpose of this meeting would be to talk about Family Violence and its consequences to the victims. You may decide about any agenda that is particular to your family. Make sure to have speakers from all age groups. Keep enough time for the discussion. Make sure to give floor to more often to children and adolescents. Check Project Sakinah Tools for publicity material and other campaign tools that we have already created for you.
2. Produce a Video: Perhaps, this could a nice project for youth in your family. Record various statements from different family members and friends. Do simple editing and post it on the Peaceful Family Project's Take a Stand Campaign.
3. Create a Family & Friends' List Serve: Ask your family members and friends to share with you their friends' email contacts.
4. Sakinah Healthy Marriage Initiative: Introduce Project Sakinah Healthy Marriage Initiative to your family and friends. This way you will Work to ensure healthy marriages to stop violence before it starts. Click here to learn more about this independent initiative by the Islamic Social Services Association in the United States.
5. Update Your Team Page: After you finish your project, please remember to update your team page. This way you will give ideas to others. As well, you will inspire many.
